Flourish

Paintings inspired by globe trotting...

Travel...it's everything.

It gives you a chance to reinvent yourself.

You get a chance to learn how to be comfortable with uncertainty and the unexpected.  It's an amazing teacher for me.

Nothing is more eye-opening than surrounding yourself with another culture where they choose to live their life differently from yours.

It can be across the globe...or across your state.  Travel offers us a different perspective on life.

Nothing is more inspiring to me than discovery.

Like finding out that the light in France is white...while the light in Italy is golden.

How the skies turn violet in Barcelona when it storms.

Grass is not just green.  It's many shades of black, green, blue and gold...

Air has a different quality in Seattle than it does in Atlanta.  Sunsets in Sarasota make me weep.

Being exposed to the discerning and slow behaviors of the French....and the gregarious and quick nature of the Italians influence my behavior. In opposite ways.

Walking down a historic street in Alabama brings my step to a stroll...my wandering eye to a kind gaze... the smell of those blooming magnolia trees...

Discovering that the cobblestones I’m standing on are thousands of years old and hold the energy of all of those who stood there before me.

...experiencing the flaky crust of a freshly baked croissant from the patisserie in Noyers Sue Serein, France falling on my chest like angel wings is a poetic and delicious way to start the day.

Travel is my education.

It’s my story… And I’m sticking to it.

glimpse.

explore.

uncover. discover.

stumble upon the magical.

I paint because I never want to forget where I’ve been…

This work is my travel journal.

George has had some work in the gallery, but now you can meet him AND see even more work he is bringing with him!
